Try Soft Reset

Save the Storage in iPhone

Update Software

It is possible that the apps are too heavy for the older version of the operating system. This could be a reason for app crash since the compatibility of both the apps and the operating system are low. Why not try to update the software of the phone?
Enable the Wi-Fi in your iPhone and connect to it.
Launch the Settings of your iPhone.
Open the General menu and navigate to Software Update.
Now tap Install Now option to download the Software Update.
